The Melbourne Gastrointestinal Investigation Unit provide a number of treatment & therapy options for Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
These options include:
- Treatment by injection with the immunomodulator, Methotrexate.
- Treatment with the biologics: Humira [Adalimumab], Remicade [Infliximab] & Entyvio [Vedolizumab].
As part of your treatment, we:
- Organise baseline tests.
- Educate you in: the use of the drug & any potential side effects.
- Our nursing staff will teach you: to self-administer the injections & safe disposal of the sharps.
M.G.I.U. participates in a number of research drug trials for both Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis.
